A young girl looks at her mom being racially profiled by an officer who is supposed to be helping her. Shewitnesses her mother being held to the ground with her hands behind her back and the white officer holdinghis knee to mom's back. She wants to know why she has to witness and why she has to go through thistrauma. She cries and hopes that it will free her mother from the danger that she is in now. But she starts tounderstand that not everyone is a hero and even those who are supposed to keep us safe can hurt us. Inthose moments she learns that it is only she who can protect herself and who can make sure that she is safein times of need.
