This framed collage contains 28 photos representing black movements and literary work’s between the 18thand 21st century. Some documents included are Frederick Douglass’s 4th of July speech, Phillis Wheatley’sfamous poem, Marcus Garvey's controversial book, along with other influential leaders and literary piecesleading up to today. The second part of my artifact is a brochure that highlights the strategies used toinfluence each black-led movement: Abolitionist movement, Black-Nationalism, The Harlem Renaissance, the Black Power movement, and the Black Lives Matter movement.
