My painting is a reflection of how music plays a big role in the uplift and encouragement of Black women.Music is a tool, a tool for change and a pillar for freedom. Music is written by artists but it provides room forlisteners to interpret it in their own way. The influence music has on people changes them as a person in apositive or negative way. Since music plays such a big role in people's lives, the impact it can have onpeople, and especially Black women, can be life changing. This woman is an embodiment of Black womenaround the world that are a symbol of music's impact. My artifact is a representation of why music and itsconnection to Black culture is used to empower Black women.
